On behalf of the Board of Directors of United Day School I would like to thank you for your interest and involvement in the school over the last year. Our success in delivering the highest quality education to your grandchildren has been the result of the interest, encouragement, and support of parents, grandparents, and faculty and staff. The Annual Giving Program initiated in the 2006-07 school year to uphold and improve our standards for the education of our students, your grandchildren. We are happy to announce that we received pledges of approximately $157,000 representing a 57% participation rate of families with children enrolled, 100% of the faculty and staff this first year. These funds will be directed to bringing teachers compensation to a competitive level with public schools and to acquiring the educational aids and technology to deliver the best to our students, your grandchildren. Looking to the future, we will continue the Annual Giving Program as one of our most important sources of funds. This is because; as we reach capacity in enrollment we have no other way to grow revenues other than raising tuition, annual giving, other fundraisers, or a combination of each. Historically, the cost of providing excellence in education has risen consistently from one year to the next. This results in the need to keep growing the level of revenues needed to fund these expenses. Our first year of Annual Giving was helpful in this regard and we look forward to continuing our tradition in the coming years. We are very thankful to those parents, grandparents, faculty and staff who supported us and will look to you for continued support. As we move forward, I would ask that you at least give some thought to participating in order to insure a future of opportunity for your grandchildren.
