JOB ADVERTISEMENT: DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT Located in
Laredo, Texas, United Day School is a coeducational elementary and middle
school accredited by the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools,
certified by the Texas Education Agency.
Established in 1953, UDS has prepared generations of Laredoans for
subsequent success in high school and post-secondary education, for
professional achievement, and for positions of community leadership. UDS seeks a highly qualified Director of
Development to help the Board of Directors meet its goal of increasing the
level and productivity of its development efforts. The successful candidate will have a record of effectiveness in
a variety of development settings, including annual giving, major gifts,
special events, endowment, and capital campaigns. Position Overview:
The Director
of Development is responsible for developing and maintaining active and
productive relationships with members of the UDS Board of Trustees, parents,
volunteers, current and prospective donors, community constituents, and
school administration. Working
closely with the Board Development Committee, the Development Director is
responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing the annual giving
program; conducting research on current and prospective donors; maintaining
donor relations; coordinating stewardship activities; preparing informational
materials that support development activities, such as case statements,
brochures, and multi-media presentations; and other duties related to the
implementation and management of all UDS development activities. The Development Director reports to the
Head of School. In addition to
managing the development office, the Development Director may be asked to
participate in the administration of the instructional program and
support operations of the school.
Qualifications:
Minimum certification/education:
· Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience · Five or more years experience in education and development activities Qualifications:
